In the olden days...before history began, primitives, tent people and nomads the world over stored their wine in the only containers ready at hand...unglazed earthenware pots. They were unaware that their crude vessels absorbed acid from wine, allowing the rich fullness of its flavour to emerge. These wine cups make wine taste ever-so-much smoother and significantly more savoury than wine served in glass or metal. Barbara has made one modest (but important) improvement over the original of ages ago. She has 'glazed the rim', for a pleasurable sensation when its lip touches yours - as smooth as glass.
Try this taste test: Pour some wine into the unglazed clay cup. Pour some wine into your regular glass. Wait 10 seconds. Taste the wine from each and compare. Vive la difference!
These wine cups are about 4" tall.
